The “Plug and Play” software utilizes generic drivers which seem to point differently for this mouse than others.
Normally, I would suggest updating drivers, but this does not help. In most mice I have used, “back” is the button further towards the back of the mouse and the opposite for “forward”. The forward/back side buttons seem to be the reverse of the usual. The mouse is fairly large, larger than my previous gaming mouse, but I am 6’4″ with decently large hands. The USB cable itself is sufficiently long for most setups (though perhaps too long for laptop usage). When you change DPI settings (which works like a charm) it will briefly flash a specific color, which I thought was an interesting feature. You cannot choose a specific light, but this is what I had intended anyway. The product itself works as expected, with breathing multicolored lights. Havit evidently likes to add some class to their packages. I knew I had made a good choice as soon as the packaging arrived. Normally, I would give this product four stars because of the few problems it does have, but the price was so reasonable and it came so quickly that it gains back the lost star without a second thought. The thumb buttons are also a nice touch, not to mention the high-quality clothe wire. The scroll-wheel is precise and functions smoothly.
The mouse fits perfectly in my hand and is very comfortable, it took some getting used to at first, but it didn’t take more than a few days before muscle memory sunk-in.
Honestly, the most appealing aspect of the mouse is its ergonomic design. The dpi button was nice, although it could use more settings. Otherwise the design of the mouse looks really cool and seems very precise. The “cracked” design on the top of the mouse is a little tacky in my opinion, but that’s just personal taste. The colors are somewhat of a novelty and although I would have preferred selecting a single color from the spectrum as opposed to the constantly changing “breathing” design, it still was pleasing. The weight of the mouse is rather light, which makes maneuvering much easier.
